History of the Local Chapter

In 1969 the work of CEF in North Jersey was officially organized as the Morris County Chapter. A few years later the Counties of Warren and Sussex were added to form the Tri-County Chapter.

In 1977 the Counties of Hunterdon and Somerset were added to form the Northwest Chapter.

In 1993 Hunterdon and Somerset became part of the Central Jersey Chapter and we added the Counties of Passaic and Bergen and became known as the North Jersey Chapter.

In November of 2022 the state board voted to add Essex County to the chapter's area of responsibility.

Today the North Jersey Chapter serves Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Morris, Sussex and Warren counties.
